Who we are

The land of Sitapur is the land of saints like Maharshi Dadhichi. For a long time, there has been demand of a post graduate college for the development of higher studies. To fulfil this motto, Govt of U. P. established this PG college in 1993. It started in the campus of ITI, Sitapur and Dr. S. K. Gupta took charge of first principal on 07/07/1993. After some time it shifted to its own building which is situated on Sitapur-Lucknow highway in the south-east direction on 5th KM from Sitapur to Lucknow.
Along with commerce classes, science classes were started in 1995 in the college. Maths and Bio classes were started in science group in 1995. Affiliation from Kanpur University and clearance from Govt. was granted in 1996 for M. Com. and first exam for M. Com. was held in 1997.
In 1999, education minister at that time Honourable Dr. Narendra Kumar Singh Gaur inaugurated Science Building. During inauguration, college’s name was changed to DEEN DAYAL UPADHYAY POST GRADUATE COLLEGE, SITAPUR by GO no. 744/70-5-99-40(13)97 dated 26th March 1999. After 10 years, by GO no. 225/70-5-2001 dated 19/10/2001, college has been promoted to PG level from graduate level. On PG level college has affiliation for Chemistry, Bio and Maths but due to unavailability of resources and post creation, classes could not get started.
By GO no. E. Sn. 2100/G. S. Dated 27/10/2006, in session 2007-08, Hindi Literature, English Literature, History, Political Science, Geology, Home Science and Economics classes were started under Arts group. session 2006-07 NAAC evaluated the college during 29th to 31st January 2007. Officials of the teams praised the college for achievements made in spite of limited resources and provided their valuable opinion for the better of college in future. The team awarded grade “C” to the college with pleasure.
